“The mountain” es un edificio compuesto por 80 unidades de apartamentos ubicado en Ørestad, parte del área metropolitana de Copenhague.
El programa especificaba 2/3 partes de parking y 1/3 partes de uso residencial y en lugar de hacer dos edificios separados, las dos funciones se fusionan, configurando el aparcamiento como la base para las viviendas aterrazadas.
Este complejo de residencias-jardín propone una nueva tipología residencial.
Chapas perforadas de aluminio en las fachadas norte y oeste proporcionan aire y luz al aparcamiento y un ascensor inclinado que se mueve a lo largo del muro interno proporciona accesos a los apartamentos. Las perforaciones de la fachada forman una gran reproducción del monte Everest, durante el día esta imagen aparece en negro en el aluminio brillante, como una tosca fotografía rasterizada. Por la noche, con la iluminación interior, la fachada se convierte en un negativo con diferentes colores identificando cada planta en el parking.
